** Error Message in Amazon’s Listmania **
Phuket is an island in southern Thailand. I wrote a book, “Thailand’s Sickest“ that is set on the island.
While trying to create a Listmania list in Amazon for that and other books I ran into a filter that wouldn’t allow me to use the island’s name – Phuket.
However, you CAN have the name in a title of your book, description, etc.
I had to look through a couple hundred words I had written and try to figure out WHICH innocuous word was deemed “Inappropriate” by Amazon’s ridiculous filter… I removed “Fook” and no change in the error message. I thought for sure it was that – and SO glad it wasn’t.
Then after some trial and error – it was revealed.
Phuket means Fuck It to Amazon’s Listmania.
As usual with major online companies raking in billions of dollars in cash, there was no help or support link that led to any email or submission form to tell them to change the algorithm – it’s Fooked.
So I’ll write here about it and feel better.
