Sit up here and write all day. It's free and you can eat dollar meals. Can you beat that? Where are YOU writing from? Is it anything like this? Why not?
Where are you writing from?
For myself, I either need to lock myself in a room to write, or I need to go somewhere spectacular, plop myself down and write until my notebook computer battery dies away.
Could you be more inspired writing from somewhere else? When I need to, this is one of the spots I go to write. I bring some fruit, climb the mountain, and though I’m interrupted at times, it doesn’t take long for me to get right back into the ebook I’m writing because I’m so at peace in this place.
One short pamphlet I’m writing, is entitled, “How to Live in Thailand on $399 Per Month“. I am targeting Thailand expats with it – but, the idea just came to me – you should consider moving here too.
I couldn’t think of a better place to write. We have fast internet. Great food. You literally can live on $399 per month. It’s safe. People are happy. Nobody is stressed about the pending collapse of the USA, and every other English speaking nation. Sure they’re fighting floods in Bangkok at the moment because 1/3 of the country is underwater… but, you wouldn’t live in those flood-prone areas anyway. You’d live in southern Thailand.
Trang. Phang Nga. Ko Samui. Ko Phangnan. Ko Phi Phi. Krabi. Ko Lanta. Phuket. Patong Beach. Rawai Beach. Karon Beach.
There are many awesome places you can stay, and though some of those I mentioned will hit you harder than $399 per month, there are 7 of them that won’t.
A writer with skills – even moderate skills, like yours truly, can live overseas in one of the most beautiful spots in the universe. That is today’s reality.
Start planning now, so in a year you can make the move. Get that pamphlet I mentioned – it will be 99 cents. Get 4-5 of my other books telling you what it’s like to live in Thailand. You might even choose to teach English part or full-time to offset costs. Heck, you can make $1,200 USD teaching English full-time and still get 3 months in breaks and vacation days off if you sign up with the right school.

How about the wilderness of Alaska? I live the life of a homesteader, and for the winters anyway, I do my best to ‘write my ass numb’ hahaha
Thanks for your comment Anna. I just read your “about me” at your site and yeah, sounds like you have quite the setup for a writer! Your satellite dish gives you internet and cable tv then? With books of 300,000 words, you’re bringing new meaning to the phrase writing your ass numb.
I’ve always wanted to see some parts of Alaska. Maybe when I start killing it on Amazon?
Best of luck to you – and don’t forget to keep the fire going Anna…
The dish just gets me internet. TV would be too expensive, and since I only work summers, keeping bill at a minimum is important. And, now that you know someone in Alaska, you have a reason to come visit. We do have a guest cabin, and if we were certain someone would be interested in using it during the winter, insulation and heat can be accomplished easily enough with a little warning.
Very nice, and thanks! Yes, I can imagine that insulation would be something the cabin needs!
It’s been 7 years since I saw my family back on the east coast of the usa, I’d better head there first. Ebooks are going to be my ticket to ride. Our two year old today said, “Daddy has to work on the computer to make us money. So I can travel all over the world.”
So, I can’t disappoint.
Oops, forgot. Do you take many (any) photos up there and put them at Flickr or somewhere public where I might view them? Cheers Anna…
7 years!!! Yes, you better see family first. It certainly wouldn’t be too easy to do so from here.
Pictures: loading pictures on the internet always gives me fits, but I have managed to accumulate quite a few on Facebook over the years.
